A Hero for Kids is a Veteran founded all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit that relies solely on the generosity of like-minded individuals, businesses, and organizations to support our mission of making our community a better place. We focus our efforts and support on our children, Veterans and First Responders…what we consider to be both the present and future of what can be a happy, healthy, growing and thriving community.

We focus on Children's literacy! Statistics show that childhood literacy has perpetual long-term effects in many areas of our society that can be traced back to literacy proficiency. 78% of juvenile crime is committed by high school dropouts. We believe that attacking children’s literacy will directly affect our dropout rate and in turn help our crime rate to decrease significantly in the future. High school dropouts cost society over $260,000 over his or her lifetime, studies prove that low literacy rate increases the likelihood that a child will drop out; by getting involved and attacking literacy early in their development we increase the chances that a child will graduate and become a productive, educated member of society.

We work with like minded individuals, organizations, schools, groups and agencies. As of February 8, 2021, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) listed 1,767,461 not for profit (tax exempt) organizations in the United States. In Florida alone there are 97,071 organizations granted a 501 Series exemption by the IRS. Of those ninety-seven thousand plus organizations in Florida, 1000 plus call Osceola County home! 

Florida nonprofits generate more than $86 billion in annual revenues and control nearly $192.9 billion in assets!
